REGINA – The Saskatchewan Roughriders have found the right man for both jobs. TSN first reported Sunday night that, just one week after winning a Grey Cup with the rival Edmonton Eskimos, that Chris Jones has been hired as the head coach and general manger of the Green & White.
The defensive guru has spent over a decade north of the border winning Grey Cups as with Montreal in 2002 (defensive line coach), with Calgary in 2008 (defensive coordinator), with Toronto in 2012 (defensive coordinator) and with Edmonton in 2015 (head coach).
Jones took over the head coaching job in Edmonton in 2014 and in just two years took a 4-14 team to the top of the CFL. The the 48-year-old Tennessean has been a Coach of the Year finalist both seasons in Edmonton.

This is not the first time the Eskimos and Riders have hired a coach away from each other. In 2009 Edmonton hired long time Saskatchewan defensive coordinator Richie Hall as their head coach.
