CALGARY – If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city, then you should head West to Bragg Creek.
The hamlet has turned itself into a winter wonderland for its annual Spirit of Christmas Festival.
There are lots of free activities for the whole family to get into the Christmas spirit, from sitting with Santa, to wagon rides and building a gingerbread house.
One of the organizers of the festival says it has changed a lot since the first year it started.
“We started eight or nine years ago and the first year we had a fire truck. So it grew from a fire truck, to what it is now. It brings thousands of people into the hamlet, so it’s a nice way to introduce people into Bragg Creek,’ said Marina Cooke, a festival organizer.
The Spirit of Christmas goes Sunday and next weekend from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
