Holiday Train arrives in Saskatoon this weekend

SASKATOON – A holiday tradition will roll into town in just a few days. The CP Holiday Train will be back in Saskatoon Sunday at 8:30 p.m. CT with artists Devin Cuddy and Kelly Prescott taking the stage at 8:45.

The travelling light show will stop at the 7th Avenue overpass near 33rd Street. A truck from the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre will be there, accepting non-perishable food items.

“We always look forward to this event and to the pure magic the festivities bring to our city. You see the train pull up and it is just spectacular — it’s completely lit up! When the performers suddenly appear and despite chilly weather, just sing their hearts out for a great cause, it’s really quite something to see,” said food bank executive director Laurie O’Connor in a news release.

Since it first left the station in 1999, the Holiday Train has brought in 3.6 million pounds of food across North America.
