Farm Assists medical marijuana lounge target of police warrant

HALIFAX – Chris Enns was arrested after police issued a warrant at a popular and controversial medical marijuana lounge on Gottingen Street Thursday.

Police were seen at Farm Assists Medical Resource Cannabis Centre to serve a warrant late Thursday afternoon.

Patrons who were inside the lounge at the time of the raid said they had valid medical marijuana licenses but their medication was seized by police.

Joshua Watts said police confiscating their marijuana was “ridiculous.”

“They said it’s evidence they need to take to have evidence against that store. How can they take our medicine for something of their investigation?”

Police say they went into the store today because of a public complaint and served a controlled drugs and substances act warrant to the owner.

Chris Enns was arrested back in September 2014 and charged with several counts of trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
