Cold Lake mosque hit by vandals

EDMONTON — RCMP are investigating after the words “go home” were written on the front door of the Cold Lake mosque.

Police believe the vandalism happened sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Officers said the words were written with an orange marker.

This isn’t the first time the mosque has been hit by vandals. In October 2014, the words “go home” were spray-painted on the outside of the building. It was an act of vandalism that shocked people across the country.

Police in Cold Lake said the words ‘catch me if you can’ were written in orange marker on the inside wall of a CIBC ATM vestibule. That case of vandalism is also under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cold Lake RCMP detachment at 780-594-3302.
