Vancouver police are investigating a disturbing incident involving a 14-year-old girl.
The teen told police she was walking in the area of 17th Avenue and Fraser Street Thursday morning when two men in a grey mini-van honked at her and gestured for her to get into their vehicle.
She ignored them and that’s when she said the driver got out of the vehicle and started following her. The teen said she went into a nearby coffee shop and about a minute later the man entered the same cafe. He said nothing and made no attempt to grab or touch the girl before leaving on his own.
Police have video from the area and are trying to identify the van as well as the suspicious man. He is described as Caucasian, 50 to 55 years old, 6’0″ tall with a medium to heavy build.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the VPD Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-2634 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
