Police said the accused owned two appliance stores under the name Kitchen Queen and allegedly sold over 300 clay oven stoves during the past year.

It is alleged the owner purchased the stoves in India, assembled them in Toronto, and sold them to unsuspecting customers with counterfeit CSA certifications.

Police said the appliances are at risk for fire and explosions which could lead to serious bodily harm or even death.

Authorities have since confiscated 100 of these ovens but believe there are 200 still out there.
