EDMONTON – Schools would become community hubs offering everything from social services to health care under an Alberta Liberal plan.
Leader Raj Sherman says his party, if elected Monday, would develop new schools and redevelop old ones to house community services, medical centres and libraries.

He says that would ensure education were better supported and neighbourhoods more united.
The Liberals have already said they would like to make education more affordable and to increase high school graduation rates.

Part of the Liberal plan would include ending school fees, reducing tuition and easing student loan criteria.
Sherman says it’s not right that a province as rich as Alberta has the lowest high-school completion and post-secondary participation rates in Canada.
