The campaign was a huge success because of our community, allowing fresh pairs of socks and underwear to be given to those in need.

The total was 1,139 knickers, 2,043 kickers, 250 jackets, t-shirts and toques, and cash donations worth $1,158.

Judy Richichi of Siloam Mission joined the Morning New on Friday to talk about the success of the campaign.

Richichi said she was excited to see a bin full of socks and underwear, as the garments are in demand but hard to come by.

“That’s a great day. When someone comes in desperate and in need of something urgent you want to be able to supply it,” Richichi said.  “It’s like not being able to have a plate of food.”
