EDMONTON – A 26-year-old man was arrested in western Alberta after being on the run from police for nearly two weeks.
Jason McGinn stole a police vehicle on Oct. 26 during a prisoner transfer from Thorsby RCMP to Drayton Valley RCMP and escaped from police.

The stolen police vehicle was found a short distance away on the same day, but police couldn’t locate McGinn.
However, the fugitive was arrested in Rocky Mountain House on Nov. 8.
McGinn is facing 10 charges as a result to the escape.
The charges include two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, four counts of mischief, and theft over $5,000.
He’s scheduled to appear in Drayton Valley Provincial Court on Nov. 17.
