HALIFAX – One man has been arrested after a strange incident involving green bins.
Cpl. Jadie Spence with Halifax RCMP said officers responded to Highway 2 in Fall River between Holland Road and Coach Avenue around midnight on Friday.
He said an intoxicated man was arrested for throwing green bins on the road.
“It definitely created a bit of a traffic hazard. We needed crews to come and clear the roads up,” he said.
Spence estimates about a dozen green bins were strewn across the highway and that one car hit a bin.
There was some damage to lights outside an apartment building.
A 21-year-old man from Fletchers Lake may face charges of damage to property and common nuisance.
Spence said the latter charge is the result of an action that endangers the life, safety, health, property and comfort of the public.
He cites alcohol as a factor in the incident.
