REGINA – A local dog rescue is asking the public for help after taking in a dog from a reserve that was shot in the shoulder.
CC Rez Q’s received a phone call from a lady whose elderly mother had taken in a stray. The dog wouldn’t put any weight on its right front leg.
The rescue group picked up the dog, named Harmony, and brought her to the vet.

“Her shoulder was completely disintegrated. There was muscular atrophy. She had no use of her shoulder or leg left. So that’s when we decided to take her on. The vet’s recommendation was that her leg was amputated,” said co-founder Caillin Rodonets.
Harmony’s leg was amputated about at the end of October and she has been recovering well since, according to Rodonets.
However, the amputation cost almost $1,900 – a huge financial setback for CC Rez Qs as it runs only off of donations.

Harmony still needs a few weeks to heal, but will be up for adoption in about a month.
“She’s been really good, friendly the whole time,” said the dog’s foster dad, Brett Chapman. “She hasn’t caused any issues in the house, been a perfect house dog. Goes outside when she needs to. Just really friendly to everyone who has come over.”
