UPDATE: Saskatoon police capture escapee from Saskatchewan Penitentiary

A man convicted in a string of robberies in Saskatoon last spring has gone missing from the Saskatchewan Penitentiary. Officials with the Correction Service of Canada said Jesse Grant McMullen, 20, was discovered missing Sunday evening during a head count at a minimum security unit.

He was serving a three-year sentence for armed robbery, a weapons offence and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

McMullen is five-foot nine, 157 pounds with a fair complexion, blue eyes and blond hair.

Both Prince Albert police and the RCMP have been notified and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
