Child injured in fall west of Calgary

A five-year-old girl was injured in a fall on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. Global News

CALGARY – A five-year-old girl was rushed to hospital from the Stoney Nakoda First Nation Reserve on Sunday after falling nearly four metres.

It happened at the Goodstoney Rodeo Grounds at around 5:30 p.m.

RCMP said the girl was playing with some other children when she tumbled from the top landing near a flight of stairs. She was transported to the Alberta Children’s Hospital by STARS Air Ambulance suffering from critical head trauma.

The name of the child isn’t being released at the request of the family.

The Stoney Nakoda First Nation Reserve is located approximately 60 kilometres west of Calgary
