WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Goldeyes have picked up outfielder Logan Vick in a trade with the Amarillo Thunderheads. The Fish gave up right-handed pitcher Rett Varner in the deal.
Vick batted .308 and had three home runs, 34 RBI and 38 stolen bases in 87 games with the Thunderheads last season. He finished the year tied for second in triples with eight.

“Logan is an athletic outfielder that can play all three outfield positions,” Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney said. “He’s coming off a good offensive campaign with Amarillo. He’s a patient hitter who produced a .300-plus batting average and a .400-plus on-base percentage. The fact that he is a good base runner who had a ton of steals is a bonus.”
Vick will be entering his fifth season of professional baseball. The 25-year-old Texan was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 11th round of the 2012 draft and played four seasons in the team’s farm system, reaching the High-A Carolina League twice. Vick has also been invited to the Indians’ spring training game the last three seasons.
