MONTREAL- Work to finish the Place du Canada park will likely miss its deadline of the end of the month.
In an email to Global News, a Montreal city spokesperson writes that renovations on the park are 95 percent finished but the final touches and the opening may not happen until November 15th.
The original completion date was October 31st.
The contract for the work done will be more than 700 hundred thousand dollars over budget.
That will bring the total tax payers bill to ten million dollars.
However Peel street between De La Gauchitière and René-Lévesque boulevard should be fully open by Wednesday morning.
