WINNIPEG — Police have arrested a suspect after an assault on a Winnipeg bus earlier in the month.

A 21-year-old woman was riding the bus and talking on her phone on Oct 8 when the man spit on her and began to physically assault her, injuring her in the upper body. Other passengers intervened and managed to push the suspect off the bus.
Police asked for the public’s help on Oct 14 trying to identify the suspect. A tip helped investigators locate the suspect on Monday without incident.
A 50-year-old man was arrested and faces the charge of assault causing bodily harm. He was released on a promise to appear.
