Ottawa man charged with committing indignity to body in suspicious death

TORONTO — A 26-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with committing an indignity to a dead body, in connection with the suspicious death of a 27-year-old Niagara Region man.

Ontario Provincial Police said Deepak Beaudoin-Reichmann was reported missing by his family on Oct. 5 and his body was found on Oct. 14 just after 6 p.m. in a creek in the area of County Road 18 and County Road 20, east of Bishop Mills, in North Grenville, Ont.

Officers launched an investigation on Oct. 14 and said the cause of death has yet to be determined. They released these photos of what Beaudoin-Reichmann was wearing at the time of his death.

On Tuesday, police arrested an unnamed Ottawa man in connection with the death and charged him with indignity to a dead body.

Investigators are now searching for two other men last seen driving a half-ton silver pickup truck with a full cap covering the truck bed in the area where the body was found during the time Beaudoin-Reichmann went missing.

Police said that information gathered in the investigation led them to determine that Beaudoin-Reichmann was in the Ottawa area between Oct. 5 and Oct. 9.
