A lockdown put in place at Bowden Institution on Sunday has ended and the institution has resumed its normal operations, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) said Friday.
Bowden was put on lockdown at around 8:20 p.m. Sunday while staff members conducted an “exceptional search” for contraband.

Facility staff completed the search on Friday.

Drumheller Institution was also put on lockdown at about 1:30 p.m. Monday. A request to CSC on whether Drumheller remained in lockdown was not immediately answered.
