CALGARY – Police have charged three people following the discovery of an alleged drug lab in the community of New Brighton.
Officers executed a search warrant on a home in the 100 block of New Brighton Circle S.E. at around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15. Inside, they found found chemicals and a pill press.
Other items seized from the residence include:
- Approximately $10,000 cash
- Ammunition
- 80.9 grams of marijuana
- 5, 5 mg tabs of oxycodone
- Airsoft pistol
- Body armour
- Silencers
- Bear spray
- Digital scale
- Money counter
The Health Canada laboratory analysis of the unidentified chemicals found in the garage is still in progress.
On Friday, police announced 27-year-old Richard Clow of Calgary had been charged with several offences including possession of ammunition contrary to an order, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited device. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 26.
Police said the investigation into the suspected drug lab led them to another home located in the 0-100 block of Evansford Circle N.W., where they executed a search warranted at around 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Officers seized the following items from the home:
- Approximately $12,000
- 1.019 kg of marijuana
- 90.7 grams of cocaine
- Machete
- Brass knuckles
- Scales
Police charged 25-year-old Nathaniel Williams of Calgary with several offences, including possession of a prohibited device, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of trafficking a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
In addition, police have charged 24-year-old Shantelle Thompson of Calgary with several offences, including two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 26.
