Edmonton Police are investigating the attempted robbery of an armoured vehicle early Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the area of 137 Avenue and 93 Street.
Police said the suspects may have had some sort of weapon, possibly a gun. Three guards with the armoured vehicle were able to get themselves inside the truck for protection. They were not injured during the incident.
“When we arrived on scene we learned that there some suspects that attempted to rob the occupants of the armoured car and when they weren’t successful, they fled on foot,” said Edmonton Police Acting Inspector Terry Langley.
Langley said Air One, a canine unit and a tactical unit were dispatched to search for the suspects.
