REGINA – Conservative David Anderson has once again been re-elected in the Cypress Hills-Grasslands riding.
Anderson was going up against Liberal candidate Marvin Wiens, NDP candidate Trevor Peterson and Green Party candidate William Caton.
This riding has voted for the Conservative party or the Reform/Canadian Alliance in all six federal elections it has been contested. The last time a Liberal candidate or NDP candidate won in a riding around Swift Current was in 1957 when Liberal MP Irvin Studer won the Swift Current-Maple Ridge riding.

The riding boundaries are most areas in Saskatchewan west of Moose Jaw and south of Rosetown. Swift Current is the riding’s largest population centre.
In the 2011 election the Conservatives had 69.8 per cent of the vote with the NDP coming in a distant second with 21.2 per cent of the vote.
Conservative David Anderson has been the MP in this area since 2000.
