CLARESHOLM – The 2015 Canada Senior Pro Rodeo Finals are underway in Claresholm. The four-day event features cowboys and cowgirls aged 40 years and up competing in calf roping, team roping, steer wrestling, bronc riding and bull riding.
There is also a ribbon roping event that is unique to Seniors Rodeo where competitors rope a calf, touch it and another team member grabs a ribbon from the calf and runs it back to the gate.

Many of the participants are former rodeo pros who say they’re not ready to give up the sport.
“It’s surprising how you still have the same habits and the same muscle reactions,” said 54-year-old Lynn Turcato.
“We’re competitors and we want to compete, even at our age now.”
The Canadian Senior Pro Rodeo continues from Oct. 15 to Oct. 18. Children under 12 get in free and regular admission is $10.
