‘Combining granny’ still pitching in at Saskatchewan farm

“You’re only as old as you feel.” That expression couldn’t be more true for one great-great-grandmother from Glaslyn.

A video of 101-year-old Katie Pylypow driving a combine is making the rounds on social media. It was posted on Facebook by her daughter, Pat.

Great-great-grandmother Pylypow left the family farm in 1977 but always comes back to help for harvest.

The centenarian usually goes for a ride every year but in 2014 she took a turn behind the wheel of the large piece of agricultural machinery for the first time. Pylypow did so again this season, combining a few miles of canola swaths outside of Glaslyn.

She turns 102 in January.
