Visitation planned for UWO student killed in campus crash by alleged impaired driver

LONDON, Ont. – A visitation is planned today for a Western University student killed in an alleged drunk driving incident last week.

Andrea Christidis, 18, died in hospital Friday, two days after she was struck by a minivan on campus.

The first-year student’s funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Toronto.

A 24-year-old London, Ont., man is facing charges in the crash.

Jared DeJong is charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, impaired operation causing bodily harm and having in excess of 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

The charges will likely be upgraded as a result of Christidis’s death.
