Man dead after pickup enters slough in southwest Sask.

A man is dead after a vehicle went into a slough in southwest Saskatchewan. It happened late Thursday evening south of Fort Walsh.

Police say a pickup truck travelling on Highway 615 went through a barricade beside a low bridge and entered the slough, coming to a rest on its roof.

The driver, a 61-year-old man from the Consul area, was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Maple Creek RCMP continue to investigate. An autopsy is scheduled for next week.
