Trailer full of immigrants found in human smuggling operation caught on camera

Footage has been released of the dramatic rescue of 37 undocumented immigrants stuffed inside the back of a semi truck in September.

Border Patrol officials in Texas were called to a truck stop north of Pearsall after a witness reported a suspicious truck, according to a statement.

“The driver was just standing there, not a care in the world,” Sgt. Jerry Reyna told KSAT.

More than three dozen ‘aliens’ from Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico slowly spilled out once authorities opened the back of the trailer. At least one man had to be pulled away.

They had been inside the trailer without a cooling system.

Watuga native Drew Christopher Potter, 33, was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury on four counts of conspiracy to smuggle and transport the immigrants, including four minors.
