The motorcycle driver, a 64-year-old man from Stettler, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 43-year-old semi-trailer driver wasn’t injured.

Although the cause of the collision is under investigation, RCMP officers don’t believe speed, traffic, or weather played a role. Investigators say no charges will be laid.

The collision caused Highway 11 to be closed for approximately two hours.

Stettler is located about 200 kilometres northeast of Calgary, and about 200 kilometres southeast of Edmonton.
