Saskatoon Blades smoke Kootenay Ice 7-2

SASKATOON – Cameron Hebig and Josh Uhrich each had a pair of goals as the Saskatoon Blades downed the Kootenay Ice 7-2 in Western Hockey League (WHL) action Wednesday night. Nik Amundrud made 30 saves to pick up his first win of the season.

Mason McCarty, Nick Zajac and Nikita Soshnin rounded out the scoring for the Blades, while the defence pairing of Brycen Martin and Mitch Wheaton both went plus five on the night.

The 2-0-3 Blades, who have earned at least one point in each of their first five games, wrap-up their four game homestand Friday when they take on the Swift Current Broncos. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. CT at SaskTel Centre.
