SASKATOON – What began as an injured man investigation ended with Saskatoon police finding a clandestine lab. Investigators say the discovery is troubling as they believe substances were being mixed to look like genuine pharmaceutical products.

It started when police were called to a residence in 600-block of Main Street East last Friday around 3 p.m. CT to help the landlord of a rental property.

Officers found an unconscious man with a head injury. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he remains in serious but stable condition. Foul play is not suspected in his injury.

While at the residence, police said they saw a large quantity of unknown substances and pills. The integrated drug enforcement street team executed a search warrant and seized cash, drugs and equipment.

The investigation led to a business in the 100-block of Primrose Drive where a search warrant was executed.
