WATCH: Drunk University of Connecticut student demands mac & cheese, gets arrested

A college student with an intense craving for macaroni and cheese became violent when he was refused service.

In a nine minute cell phone video shot by a bystander on Sunday, 19-year-old University of Connecticut student Luke Gatti argues with an unnamed manager of the campus cafeteria.

“I just denied you service,” says the manager. “You can’t come in here with an open bottle of booze! Think about it!”

Although Gatti says that he is underage in the video, he adds that he has a right to the cheesy pasta because “this is America.”

When he is warned that the police has been called and that he will likely be arrested for underage drinking, Gatti scoffs.

When the pair notice the bystander filming them, Gatti smiles and says, “He’s going to post this somewhere and you’re going to look like a f***ing tool  because you’re a f***ing f**.”

When the manager asks him to leave again, Gatti begins to get physical.

“U Conn police aren’t going to come to this because this is a f***ing joke. Your job is a f***ing joke. What are you, the manager?” he says before shoving the man.

The video, which has now been viewed more than 1.6 million times since Monday, shows bystanders attempt to intervene but Gatti then became confrontational with them.

Finally, one last shove from Gatti sends another cafeteria worker into action, who locks Gatti’s arms together in a full nelson and throws him down to the ground saying, “I told you, you don’t touch my boss!”

Campus police eventually arrived and arrested Gatti, but not before Gatti spit in the manager’s face as he was escorted out of the building.

According to Gatti’s arrest record, he was charged with criminal trespassing and breach of the peace at a $1,500 bond.

Attempts by Global News to speak to campus police for comment were not returned.

Other media reports say that Gatti was arrested in September 2014 twice: once for disorderly conduct and another for assaulting an officer while he attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
