EDMONTON — Linda Duncan has retained her seat in the riding of Edmonton Strathcona for the New Democratic Party.
“Some upsets here that are a total surprise I think to everyone, but you can’t say that we didn’t give it a good try and we had a fabulous group running. Of course, I’m very sad to have lost a lot of great colleagues in the house, people who have worked hard for many years on behalf of Canadians,” Duncan said.

Duncan ran against Conservative Len Thom, Liberal Eleanor Olszewski and Green Jacob Binnema.
Conservative Rahim Jaffer held this riding from 1997 to 2006. Duncan defeated Jaffer in an upset victory in 2008, by a margin of just 463 votes. In the last election, Duncan won for the second time, defeating Conservative Ryan Hastman by 6,331 votes.
Located in central Edmonton, south of the North Saskatchewan River, this riding saw only minor boundary changes for 2015.
