VANCOUVER – Justin Filteau capped off a dominant first quarter for Saskatchewan with a 48-yard fumble return for a touchdown as the Huskies upset the No. 6 UBC Thunderbirds 45-29 on Friday night in Canadian Interuniversity Sport football action. Filteau finished the game with eight solo and 12.5 total tackles as Saskatchewan opened with 21-straight points.

Quarterback Drew Burko was 16-for-21 passing for 324 yards and two touchdowns for the Huskies (2-2). Jarvis James added 26 carries for 155 yards and two TDs.

Michael O’Connor completed 30 passes for 335 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice for UBC (2-2).

The Huskies are in Calgary on Oct. 3 when they take on the No.1 ranked Dinos. Kickoff is 1 p.m. CT.
