KELOWNA–The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 4-3 in their season opener at home.
Tyson Baillie had two goals and an assist and Dillon Dube had two assists.
The game was tied 1-1 after the first period, but the Rockets scored three times in the second to build a 4-2 lead.
The Blazers were able to get one goal in the third, but Jackson Whistle turned aside 13 Kamloops shots to keep the Rockets ahead.
The Rockets take on the Blazers Saturday night in Kamloops, then travel to Vancouver on Sunday to take on the Giants.
