WATCH: One-on-one with Saskatoon Blades head coach Bob Woods

SASKATOON – The puck is set to drop on the Saskatoon Blades 2015-16 WHL season. The Blades hit the ice Friday at 7:05 p.m. CT at SaskTel Centre to take on the Prince Albert Raiders in the home opener.

There is an air of optimism for the new look Blades and the team is aiming to make the playoffs this season.

The Blades announced that Nick Zajac, who has spent his entire junior career with the team, will be their new captain.

The team also announced there will be six alternate captains this season instead of the usual four.
