TORONTO — Police have charged a 43-year-old woman in Mississauga on allegations that she abducted her son from Germany.
Bettina Neumann fled Germany with her son and entered Toronto in February 2015, according to police.
The Toronto Police Fugitive Squad worked with German authorities, local and federal law enforcement agencies in an attempt to locate them since the woman and her son entered Canada.
Police said recent information led investigators to an address in Mississauga near Lakeshore Road East and Hurontario Street.
Neumann was arrested on Wednesday and is currently in custody at Vanier Correctional Centre in Milton, Ont.
Police said her son is in good health and is in the care of his father, who arrived to Canada a few days ago.
