Pamela Porter granted full parole

MONTREAL – Pamela Porter, the widow of late Arthur Porter, has been granted full parole.

She was released from jail back in June and was living in a halfway house.

She was serving a sentence for her role in the alleged conspiracy to defraud the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) of $22.5 million.

She pleaded guilty to money laundering last December and a stay of proceedings was placed on the conspiracy charges.

She and Arthur Porter were in Panama at the time of her arrest in May 2013.

He died in jail on June 30.

Porter’s biographer, doctor and relatives said he succumbed to cancer.
