Roof-jumper facing charges after break in at Saskatoon care home

A man who tried to flee from police by roof-jumping is facing charges after he allegedly tried to break into a Saskatoon care home. File / Global News

SASKATOON – A man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to break into a Saskatoon care home. Police went to the home in 1400-block of East Heights just after 2 a.m. Thursday after being told a man had unlawfully entered the building.

After responding officers were given a description, the air support unit (ASU) was called in to help for the search of the suspect.

ASU members spotted man matching the suspect’s description on the roof of an adjacent building.

The man then attempted to flee by jumping to another roof, but was taken into custody after officers were able to talk him down off the roof.

The 19-year-old man is facing charges of break and enter, obstruction and breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Thursday afternoon.
