EDMONTON — A 61-year-old Edmonton woman has been charged with careless driving in connection with a September collision that killed one of her passengers.
The three-vehicle collision happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the area of 82 Street and 122 Avenue.
Investigators believe a Honda Civic was heading north on 82 Street when the driver ran a red light, colliding with a Jeep that was heading west on 122 Avenue. The Civic then struck another vehicle that was stopped at a red light.

Six people were involved in the collision. Two passengers in the Civic and the driver of the Jeep were taken to hospital by EMS to be treated.
A 64-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Civic, died of her injuries.
The woman’s death was Edmonton’s 26th traffic fatality of 2015. As of Tuesday, Oct. 6, 29 people have been killed in traffic collisions in Edmonton.
On Tuesday, police said Candace Patricia Gairdner was charged with careless driving.
