Fire at Spruce Grove construction site concerns RCMP

EDMONTON — RCMP are investigating a fire in Spruce Grove which they believe was deliberately set.

RCMP and fire crews were called to the fire at 77 Aspenglen Drive at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police believe those responsible for the fire piled up scrap wood and plastic, lit it on fire and left the scene. It happened in an area with new construction.

No damage was done to any nearby structures, but the fire is a concern to RCMP because there has been a rash of fires in the Spruce Grove area this summer.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to immediately contact the RCMP.
