Two chihuahua puppies got a helping hand from the Port Alberni Fire Department last week when they were caught in a house fire.
Luckily the fire crews had special pet-sized oxygen masks and were able to help the puppies, Mushu and Mulan, breathe after they had inhaled a lot of smoke.

They were found hiding upstairs behind a mattress standing up on the wall.
Everyone in the house were able to get out safely.
The special masks had just been donated to the Port Alberni Fire Department.
In June, nine rescue kits containing pet oxygen masks were donated to firefighters in Abbotsford, the City of Langley and Langley Township. The kits cost $130 each and came courtesy of Mountain View Veterinary Hospital.
