We are taking all your gold: Kelowna Robbers

UPDATE: Kelowna RCMP are looking for two men who robbed a local jewelry store.

The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday when the two suspects entered a jewelry store on Cannery Lane near Prospera Place.

“Two men entered the store, locked the door behind them, brandished a weapon and stated: we are taking all your gold,” says Corporal Joe Duncan.

He says one of the suspects took the store employee to the back of the store while the other suspect loaded a backpack with jewelry.

Witness Calen Trentini came face-to-face with one of the suspects as he was making his getaway on foot.  He says the suspect was being chased by three men.

“I saw three guys chasing another guy through the parking lot and a woman pleading to give back something. So I kinda just dropped what I was doing to see what the commotion was. He comes around a truck with the three guys chasing him. I was able to cut him off. He fell over and dropped the backpack and took off into Waterfront Park,” says Trentini.

Police searched the park but failed to locate the suspect.

The other suspect was seen getting into a getaway vehicle — a blue and grey SUV.

Both suspects are described to be in their 40’s. One was wearing blue coveralls and an orange safety vest.

KELOWNA — Kelowna RCMP are investigating a downtown robbery.

Details are still sketchy, but the incident happened late Tuesday afternoon near Prospera Place on Water Street.

Witness Calen Trentini, says he saw three males chasing another male through the parking lot of Prospera Place with a woman following who was pleading for the return of a backpack.

Trentini says he came face-to-face with the suspect.

RCMP say they’re looking for two males including the one who ran through the park. They say another male was seen getting into a getaway vehicle.

What they’re alleged to have taken and from who, is not clear.
