Randy Carlyle has been named as the new head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, after Ron Wilson was fired late Friday night.
Carlyle is no stranger to the Toronto Maple Leafs, as he worked with now Leafs general manager Brian Burke, during the Anaheim Ducks Stanley Cup championship run in 2007.

He was then fired from the Ducks last November and replaced by Bruce Boudreau.
Carlyle was born in Sudbury in 1956 and started his career with the Sudbury Wolves for three years.
He then played for the Leafs for one year, before going to play for the Dallas Black Hawks in the CHL, back to the Leafs, then back to Dallas, before heading to Pittsburgh and playing with the Penguins for six years. He finished out his playing career with the Winnipeg Jets and retired from the ice in 1993.
He started coaching the Jets in 1995, and has coached in the IHL and the NHL, with the Manitoba Moose, the Washington Capitals, and the Ducks.
