WATCH: Odell Willis’ velociraptor impression

EDMONTON — I have the privilege of covering the Eskimos. It’s a really fun group to be around and there are a few players in particular that just bring an incredible energy.

One of them is Defensive Lineman Odell Willis, who basically has me laughing every time I interview him. I love being around Odell.

He faced some tough questions regarding his penalty and benching against the Ottawa Redblacks earlier this season. You knew he didn’t want to do it, but he handled the questions well and I really appreciated his respect for Coach Chris Jones.

He said, basically, that Jones could do whatever he wanted with Willis’ playing time because he brought him into this league. That is serious respect for his coach.

Just this week, one Eskimos player told me that Odell is the best teammate he has. I’m not around every day, but the media that are often have great things to say about the CFL veteran.

And just in case you don’t understand how funny Odell is, check out this video. My camera girl, Erin, was setting up for the interview when Odell broke out in what I call the ‘Velociraptor.’ Media just stopped in their tracks to turn and laugh hysterically at this.
