WINNIPEG – City crews are expected to be back out fogging for mosquitoes Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
City officials said fogging will begin on Saturday at 9:30 p.m., weather permitting.
The ‘Adulticiding Factor Analysis,” the city’s benchmark for measuring the nuisance mosquito problem, was at a “High” rating, with an average trap count of 28 city wide on Saturday.
The crews will be spraying Malathion, a controversial insecticide. When fogging trucks are around be sure to close your windows and turn off your air conditioning.
This is the second round of city-wide fogging this season.
The city has said buffer zones will be respected and crews will not spray within 90 metres of a registered property.
