Police charge 53-year-old man with 2nd degree murder in Enfield shooting

HALIFAX – Halifax District RCMP have laid a second-degree murder charge against a Kings County man in a fatal shooting in Enfield earlier this week.

53-year-old Joseph James Greene will appear in a Dartmouth court this morning.

RCMP have identified the victim as 47-year-old Patrick Ernest Deagle of Bedford.

Police were called to a residence on Stage Road in Enfield at 1:50pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. When they arrived, they found Deagle outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He died from his injuries.

Greene was arrested on Thursday in Kentville.

The investigation is continuing.
