Calgarians invited to join the ‘Front Lawn Dance’

WATCH ABOVE: A lot of people are working on some pretty wild moves in Calgary this week. As Gil Tucker show us, by the time they’re done, their front lawns may never be the same again.

CALGARY – It’s billed as a way to get to know your neighbours through dance, and it’s happening this weekend in Calgary.

Volunteers eager to share what they enjoy about their communities are working with choreographers.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

They’re preparing brief movement pieces to perform in front of their homes in a new event called “Front Lawn Dances.”

Busy rehearsing his performance, Jim Besse says it’s “an intent to bring art into the community and the community into art.”

The choreographer working with Jim, Jill Henis, said: “It’s like we’re inviting them in, like a dinner party.”
