CALGARY – The man accused of killing a young Calgary mother made a court appearance on Friday.
Kevin Rubletz, 30, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Jessica Rae Newman.
Newman, the mother of Rubletz’s two-year-old son, disappeared in March. Eight weeks later, her body was found in a ditch north of Calgary.

During his court appearance on Friday, it was determined a bail hearing for Rubletz would be held on September 11, followed by a preliminary inquiry in June of 2016.
