Federal Election 2015: Battle River-Crowfoot riding results

Summary: Conservative MP Kevin Sorenson has represented this area, in the former riding of Crowfoot, since 2000. He is seeking re-election in this new riding for a seventh term.

Boundaries: This new riding is on the eastern side of central Alberta. It was created largely from the former riding of  Crowfoot,  combined with the southern half of the former Vegreville–Wainwright riding.  Communities in this riding include Three Hills, Consort, Stettler, Camrose, Viking and Wainwright.

Last Election: If this riding existed in 2011, the Conservatives would have earned 83.1 per cent of the vote, followed by the NDP with 9.8 per cent.

History: Both of the former ridings that make up this new riding have consistently voted on the political right. Kevin Sorenson has won by a landslide in every election, with his best finish in 2011 in Crowfoot, when he took 84 per cent of the vote.

Demographics: 16.5 per cent of people in Battle River-Crowfoot were seniors as of the 2011 census, the highest figure in Alberta. Just 4.9 per cent of people here in 2011 were immigrants, the lowest number in the province.
