CALGARY – An 18-year-old woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash near the town of Nanton on Tuesday.
Emergency crews were called to Highway 22 between Highway 532 and Highway 540 around 9 a.m.
RCMP say it appears the motorcycle had been traveling southbound when it left the road and crashed into a ditch.
A 60-year-old man believed to be the driver of the bike was airlifted to the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary in life-threatening condition.
An 18-year-old woman, believed to be the passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Nanton is located about 120 kilometers northwest of Lethbridge.
